Founded in 1585/86 by Archduke Charles II of Habsburg as a Jesuit university, the Faculty of Catholic Theology is the second oldest in Austria.
It combines historical depth, critical reflection, and pioneering research. Whether in theological women's and gender studies, applied ethics, or the dialogue between religions and cultures - we practice scholarship with relevance for society.
